Our mindful dance movement therapy sessions enable you to connect body, mind and spirit as you are guided by our facilitator through opportunities to communicate through dance and movement with your inner self, respond to things you love and the things you want to change, feel more positive about yourself and empower you to take the steps you need to bring about that change.
Although no two sessions are the same, typically, a mindful dance-movement session will involve a guided visualisation exercise for grounding & intention setting, gentle guided warm-up, moving to the core ‘dance as you feel’ inspired movement expressing emotions, releasing tensions and freeing the spirit. The session concludes with a period mindfulness for calm reflection and integration.
The health and well-being benefits of dance are well documented, including the release of ‘happy hormones’. Mindful dance-movement provides access to all those benefits without the discipline and potential pressure of learning dance steps. It enables you to be in the moment, express your thoughts and feelings and be in control in a setting that is safe and non-judgemental. All this, supported by the emotional power of music.
It is no coincidence that dance has been, throughout human history, an integral part of human existence. That’s because dance and movement are inherently therapeutic, connecting mind, body and spirit. Mindful dance-movement has been found to be beneficial for people experiencing anxiety or depression, low self-esteem or lack of self-confidence, or for anyone who wants to feel energised and empowered as they tackle day to day challenges.

From stress relief to enlightenment there are innumerable remarkable gains from mindfulness practise. But Focused Guided Meditation is not the regular meditation.
We are all driven by our beliefs, values, and morals and mostly they serve us in good stead. However, limiting beliefs would be at the top of the list of obstacles that prevents anyone from living their dream life. Limiting beliefs do not serve us, instead they disempower us.
Beliefs are something that for us is true and certain, naturally, it influences our behaviour, lifestyle, and choices. Conversely, we set boundaries and limitations on our conduct based on our beliefs. The trouble is beliefs are the cumulative result of conditioning, society, and our life experiences. Most of our beliefs are in the unconscious mind hence, we are not always aware of how they affect our choices due to which we find certain aspects of our lives remain unfulfilled, certain joys elusive, in spite of working hard for them.
Beliefs give rise to thoughts and thoughts influence actions, choices, and decisions and as long as we are bogged down by limiting beliefs, dreams will remain dreams. Some examples of limiting beliefs are - “I am unlovable”, “I can’t do…..(fill in the blank) because I am too old”, “he/she is too good for me”, “I am not good enough to achieve that”, “love is painful”, “rich people are bad”…..and so on. We have beliefs related to every aspect of our lives and so long as they are unhelpful, we cannot flourish.

Reiki is an alternative form of therapy with its roots in Japan. Although there is evidence that it dates back thousands of years and is believed to have been practised by ancient Tibetan civilisations, the current Reiki practise method was established by Dr. Mikao Usui in the late 1800s and at TLP the therapist has been trained, and attuned, in the Usui lineage.
The Japanese word Reiki is made up of Rei (pronounced ‘ray’) which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki meaning "life force energy", which makes this a spiritually guided healing practise utilising life force energy. The healing itself involves the transference of universal light, or energy, from the practitioner to the client by the use of hands.
The gentle yet powerful Reiki light helps to dissipate emotional and mental blockages and reinstate a balanced flow of energy leading to a relaxed, positive state of wellbeing. It also assists in relieving anxiety and stress, improve sleep, increase energy, and stimulate the body’s natural healing process.
Reiki can be hands-on or hands-off as well as be given from a distance, i.e., without being in the same physical location. It works effectively in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic modalities to promote recovery, and is suitable for all age group.
